It's realism cinema at its very best and I think this film from Jonathan Demme (the director of that other brilliant psychological thriller "The Silence of the Lambs" which won many Oscars) will help to bridge the communication gap between addicts and their non-addict friends, and help both camps to understand the feelings and emotions of each other and come to an understanding.
In any case, the film sent chills down my spine, erupted raw emotions in me and in some scenes, I couldn't help but openly cry.
Hope this film will be of help and useful to all recovering addicts and their non-addict family members and friends coming to terms and leading normal and happy lives.
